At our home watch service, we check for signs of mouse activity and rodent infestations while you are away. Here’s how we approach detecting and managing potential mouse problems:
Key Areas We Check for Mouse Infestation:
- Kitchen Areas: We closely examine kitchen sinks, cabinets, pantries, and other food storage or preparation areas where mice are likely to seek food.
- Behind Major Appliances: If accessible we check behind stoves, refrigerators, and other large appliances where mice might hide or enter the home.
- Utility Closets: We check utility closets and areas around appliances and water heaters, as these are common spots for rodent activity.
- Bathroom Cabinets: We look inside bathroom cabinets and closets where mice can nest.
- Basements and Sump Pumps: Our inspection includes basements and sump pump crocks, as these areas are often vulnerable to rodent invasions.
- Attics and Crawl Spaces: If accessible, we inspect attics and crawl spaces for any signs of rodent activity.
- Documentation: If we find evidence of mice or suspect an infestation, we take detailed photographs and include them in our report. We promptly notify you of our findings and can assist in locating a reputable pest control company to manage the treatment.
- Treatment Plan: Typically, addressing a mouse infestation involves a comprehensive pest control program consisting of three visits.
- First Visit: The pest control technician inspects your property to identify and seal potential entry points for mice. They will also set bait and traps both inside and outside your home.
- Second Visit: About two weeks later, the technician returns to check for ongoing rodent activity, remove any dead mice, and reset traps and bait stations.
- Third Visit: Another two weeks after the second visit, the technician performs a similar check to ensure the infestation is under control.
